The day showcased thrilling performances, with New Zealand and Sri Lanka emerging victorious in their respective encounters.

New Zealand’s dominance in Group D

In the 7th match of Group D, New Zealand Under-19s engaged in a captivating battle with Nepal Under-19s after winning the toss and choosing to bat. New Zealand’s innings were nothing short of spectacular, posting a formidable total of 302/8 in their allotted 50 overs.

The standout performer for New Zealand was Snehith Reddy, who played a blistering inning of 147 runs off 125 balls, featuring 11 fours and 6 sixes. Oscar Jackson‘s contribution of 75 runs and Tom Jones‘ 33 runs further solidified New Zealand’s innings. Despite Gulshan Jha and Subash Bhandari taking crucial wickets for Nepal, the bowlers faced an uphill task.

In response, Nepal Under-19s displayed commendable resilience, with Arjun Kumal’s well-crafted 90 runs leading the charge. However, New Zealand’s bowling unit, spearheaded by Mason Clarke, proved too strong, securing a 64-run victory. Ewald Schreuder and Oscar also played pivotal roles, each contributing with two wickets. The collective effort of New Zealand, combining robust batting and disciplined bowling, marked a significant win in the ICC Under 19 World Cup 2024.
