The surface at the iconic Wankhede Stadium is known to aid the batters. Considering that the two teams have a lethal batting line-up, a high-scoring contest can be expected. The wicket is flat and hard, making it easier for the batters to get runs swiftly and the quick outfield of the ground acts as the icing on the cake. Either skipper winning the toss is likely to bat first in the contest.
Ruturaj Gaikwad: Gaikwad started off brilliantly for CSK and is currently the leading run-getter in the top-tier league. Though it is too early to be talking about the IPL Orange Cap, the batter has been in terrific touch and has played his shots with panache. In both outings, the right-handed opener hammered fifties and will look to continue his purple patch with the bat against MI.
Jofra Archer: Archer failed to create a lasting impression against RCB in the first match. He gave away 33 runs in his four overs with an economy of 8.25 and was unable to get the required breakthroughs. Despite this, the ace pacer will be raring to dent the CSK batting lineup in the forthcoming clash with his hard-hitting pace.
Tim David MI | BAT He has managed to score more than 30 runs in three out of his last ten outings and can be avoided for this game.
Jason Behrendorff MI | BOWL He bowled three overs in the previous game and gave away 37 runs but failed to pick a wicket.
